Skimmed milk powder is an important ingredient for the production of many foods. In contrast to whole milk powder with a fat content of approx. 26%, skimmed milk powder contains only slightly more than 1% milk fat, but more than 30% valuable milk protein. In the food industry, skimmed milk powder is used, for example, for the production of confectionery and baked goods. Low-heat skimmed milk powder is particularly suitable for recombining milk, which is then used for cheese production or for the production of fresh milk products such as yoghurt or milk mix products - e.g. in countries with low own milk production.
A part of our low-heat skimmed milk powder we produce at the Uelzena eG headquarters in Uelzen. The majority, approx. 60,000 tons per year, comes from the production site in Neumünster. Here, together with three partners, we operate the MTW Milchtrockenwerk Norddeutschland GmbH. A milk drying plant which has one of the largest and most modern spray towers in Europe. Drying is resource-saving thanks to the latest technologies and innovative processes for heat and process water recovery.

Whether skimmed milk powder in a big bag or the traditional skimmed milk powder 25 kg sack, we always offer hygienic packaging solutions that meet industrial standards. The Uelzena range of milk based ingredients is completed by different milk fats, sweetened condensed milk and milk products such as cream for delicatessen or yoghurt.
